It feels good to finally get a game under our belts.

After a week of pounding on each other and practicing in the August heat, we took a long trip to Seattle to take on the Seahawks for our Pre-Season opener.  Of course we played on the hottest day Seattle has seen all summer. Unfortunately we came up short 20-18 but I think we accomplished a lot as a team.  I was pleased on how our first team offense played; we were able to get CJ in the endzone on our opening drive.  Our young guys got good game experience that should carry over to next week’s game.  Unfortunately we lost Running Back Staffon Johnson to an ankle injury in the 2nd half. Staffon had already been through a lot prior to becoming a Titan, so I hope he has a speedy recovery and hopefully he can come back stronger. Other than Staffon, we came out of the game fairly healthy as a team.

We ended up getting back to Nashville Sunday Morning and given the rest of the day off.   I am eager to get back onto the practice field and get this week of practice going.  Be sure to check us out next week on Monday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals.

GO TITANS!!!!!

Hi everyone, it has been quite some times since I last updated all of you on what has been going on.  Currently we are in full training camp mode, we just completed our first week of practice.  Finally got some time off so I figured I would update everyone on how the summer went.

First of all I am happy to say I am now a married man, Frances and I were married on July 10, 2010 in Dana Point, CA.  The wedding was so much fun and it was great to have family and friends I have not seen in years in attendance.  Our wedding day was just absolutely perfect and we were very happy how everything turned out.  After the wedding we spent a whole week in Tahiti relaxing and enjoying our honeymoon.  Luckily the hotel we stayed at had a nice gym setup, so I was able to get some work done even on vacation.  I was even able to run sprints and prepare for our conditioning test we had to take the day we reported.

Leading up to our wedding day it just seemed like there was not enough time in the day.  I was working out 5 days a week sometimes twice a day with my brother Fred.  I decided to change it up this summer and workout with Ryan Burgess at Fitness Quest 10 in San Diego.  It was a great environment because other NFL guys were working out there as well.  We had a solid workout group going, along with my brother Fred, fellow Titans DL Eric Bakhtiari, former Titans/Free Agent OL Pete Clifford, and former Buffalo Bills/Free Agent DL Corey Mace were the guys that I worked out with everyday.  It was nice to have a group and compete a little bit in the weight room and on the field.

After working out Frances and I had to do a lot of finishing touches to the wedding.  Not to mention once family and friends started coming in town, things got rather hectic.  I have to give a shout out to my college teammate and current New England Patriots OL Dan Connolly.  He actually made history and completed the 12-egg omelet challenge at the Broken Yolk restaurant in San Diego.  This thing was massive; it had 12 eggs, chili, cheese, mushrooms, bacon, sausage, along with a pound of potatoes and two large biscuits.  He had one hour to complete this monster and he was able to finish it.  A few of my other buddies and my brother Fred actually attempted but failed miserably. Overall it was a fun and entertaining summer spent in my hometown of San Diego.

Although it is summer is over it only means one thing its FOOTBALL SEASON.  And I am very excited for this season and ready to get going.  We are one week away from our first pre-season game with Seattle.  But we are still in the beginning of camp, so I have to keep grinding away and improve everyday.  Thanks again everyone for the love and support. I will be updating my blog weekly throughout the season, so stay tuned for next week’s blog.  GO TITANS!!!!!

The weekend of May 1st is a weekend I will never forget for as long as I live. The weekend started off great. On Friday Frances and I had our last engagement photo session.  Want to THANK Marcel and Iris of Studio64 Photography for taking such great photos. Marcel and Iris arrived in Nashville Friday afternoon, flying in from San Diego.  Right when we picked them up from the airport we headed to LP Field for our engagement shoot.  We had such a great time taking photos on the field and in the locker room.  The photos turned out great and we were pleased the way everything turned out.  If you want to check out some of Studio64 photography’s work, visit www.studio64photography.com .

We had planned to take a few more photos Saturday morning, but that is when the rain started to come down.  For as long as I’ve lived in Nashville, never have I seen a storm this powerful.  The rain just kept coming down hard for 2 straight days. I realized how bad it was, when on Saturday we tried to make a trip to the grocery store, but we weren’t able to make it there because the roads were all flooded.  It was a surreal sight watching the news, and seeing interstate 24 look like a swimming pool.

We truly are thankful and lucky we were safe and experienced no damage to our home. Unfortunately other parts of Nashville took a big hit, and many homes and businesses were greatly affected.  I am hopeful that Nashville will make a full recovery, and I ask we continue to pray for those who have been affected by this tragic event.

Every offseason I usually always have one goal I want to accomplish around the house. Last year my main objective was to furnish the living room. So this offseason the goal I had in mind was to fix up the garage.

During the season I began to notice how little space there was in the garage, and how cluttered it was getting. So going into this offseason I already knew what I wanted to get accomplished. With the help of my brother-In-law Michael and my buddy Jason, owner of Hawkins Audio Technologies, we were able to seal the garage floor and put up shelves.

It took us the weekend to complete the process, but I am very pleased the way it turned out. With the shelves I can now put away all the junk I would normally leave out on the garage floor. Now I can honestly say the garage is clean and efficient.
My 2010 offseason project is complete, now I have to figure out a project for next year.

I feel like I brought some Southern California weather back with me to Nashville. I love this time of year in Tennessee, perfect mild weather.

We had a pretty rough winter this year, so having the sunshine lately has been great. I try to take advantage of this weather by spending time outside, because once summer hits, the humidity deters me from doing so.

The dogs have certainly been enjoying this weather by playing outside and us taking them on long walks. Its been nice unwinding here and working out at the facility with the rest of the guys.

Since I am making the move over to Center, I have been spending extra time in the film room and working with Vince. I just want to get comfortable with my center sets and work on my technique. I am excited for the move and look forward to the challenge. Here are some videos a couple of weeks ago with my brother Fred working on snaps.

After all the traveling I've been doing, it is great to finally be back in Nashville. Frances and I returned to Tennessee Sunday night after a week in California.

Frances was on her spring break so we figured, no better place to spend it than San Diego. So after a cruise, she was determined to visit Disneyland, and so we did. The video at the bottom pretty much explains how much she loves Disneyland -- we were dead tired.

Disneyland and California Adventure was fun! We had the opportunity to see Captain EO, rode Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted House, Toy Story, and the rest of the Disneyland park. I really don't think we missed a single ride. The second day we spent at California Adventure. This was the first time for me so I was definitely excited. I think the Soaring Over California was my favorite. After two rides, my brother Fred decided to call it quits, I really don't blame him because after that ride, I started feeling a little sick.

So after 48 hours of Disneyland magic, I am finally back in Nashville to participate in our offseason program. I am excited to see everyone back and working with my teammates again.

Here's that video I was talking to you about. The white flag was definitely raised.....

Thank you again for visiting my site, salamat.

Thank goodness for frequent flyer miles. I've been traveling so much this off season. Nashville to San Diego, San Diego to Nashville, Nashville to Texas, and now back to San Diego from Nashville.

After spending a couple of days in Nashville, Frances (my fiance') and I decided to take a little cruise down to Ensenada on the Carnival cruise ship. It was nice to just relax and unwind for the weekend. The food was great and there were a lot of friendly people on the boat. I actually got to hang out with Jackie Battle, a running back for the Kansas City Chiefs. Jackie is a really cool guy and I had a good time sharing stories with him.

Three days on the boat was relaxing. However, it was time to get back to work. After a visit with the chiropractor, Fred and I got into the gym and then pushed sleds at USD.

Before I sign off today. I wanted to say hi to Marco Meily in Connecticut. Keep working hard, focus on school, and always pursue your dreams. I had the opportunity to meet Marco's father Butch in Boston. PLDT SMART does some really amazing philanthrophic work in the Philippines. I recently read up on their foundation, if you have a minute, visit their site at:

After a grueling but fun training session in Los Angeles, I decided to take a trip to Houston to attend the Coca-Cola Celebrity Golf Classic to support Special Olympics. Lucky for me, it started to rain. My golf game needs some work, so having the round cut short was not such a bad thing. The dinner and auction was fun. I actually ended up bidding and winning a signed Peyton Manning ball. I consider myself a collector of sorts....

There were a handful of players at the event. Coach Mike Munchak and Bruce Matthews were the celebrity chairs of the tournament. In addition, it was great to see former teammates like Justin Hartwig, Chris Brown, and Brad Hopkins.

One of my favorite things to do in the offseason is attend charity events that raises money for a good cause. Special Olympics is an amazing organization and anything I can do for them is an absolute pleasure. I have to download the pictures from my camera and will post them here shortly.

Lastly, we just announced - May 15, 2010 - as our official date for the 2nd Annual Amano Family Foundation Football Camp to be held in San Diego, CA. The camp will be free once again. Last year, we had close to 400 kids participate. If you want more information on the camp, please contact my brother Fred at info@eugeneamano.com

Thanks for visiting my site, I appreciate your patience as we are still adding information. I check my e-mail all the time so if you want to contact me, send an e-mail over.

Salamat | Thanks |
Eugene
